What we don't see does not mean it does not exist
I love watching and reading scientific findings because whatever I learn in yoga and other energy modalities are now scientifically “proven” and that fascinates me.
You might look at me strangely by me saying this but many of the scientific findings today had been taught in yoga for thousands of years. Whenever I see this scientific new “discovery,” I am a little proud of yogis who have discovered these only with their own body experiences, observations and innate wisdom.
Many of us have been taught that if it is not “scientifically proven,” then, it is not worth looking at. It is embedded in our education. I just want to question ourselves; is that really so?
One of the energy healings that I practice is called Reiki. This modality can now partially be explained by quantum physics but before it was not. In UK, many hospitals acknowledge the benefits of Reiki and they actually integrate this modality into certain treatments such as cancer. The scientists could not explain “why” the patients are getting better but the positive result was there and so those hospitals had decided to acknowledge this fact. I am very impressed by their decision.
We may not “see” it but we see the “result.” We may not “see” it but we “feel.” We may not “see” it but somewhat we “know” that it is there.
I hope that we can embrace this fact and honour this “feel” and innate wisdom that we experience directly. This will really help us bringing back to the core of ourselves. No one needs to “prove” it for us for what we feel.
